Rhinoplasty

What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as nose reshaping surgery, is a precise cosmetic procedure that refines the proportions and profile of the nose to achieve facial harmony. It can enhance appearance by balancing the bridge, tip, or nostrils, while also correcting structural issues that may cause breathing difficulties.

Rhinoplasty may involve:

  • Reducing or reshaping a prominent nasal hump
  • Refining the nasal tip for improved definition and symmetry
  • Adjusting nostril size or width for balance
  • Straightening the bridge or correcting deviations
  • Restoring function by improving airflow through the nasal passages

The goal is not just aesthetic improvement but the creation of a nose that looks natural, functions well, and complements the unique beauty of your face.

Why Consider Rhinoplasty?

Many clients choose rhinoplasty to enhance both appearance and confidence. It is also sought for functional reasons when breathing is impaired. It may be right for you if you:

  • Feel your nose is out of balance with your facial features
  • Have a nasal hump, wide bridge, or bulbous tip you wish to refine
  • Experience difficulty breathing due to a deviated septum or other structural issue
  • Desire a discreet, natural enhancement without looking “operated on”

For high-end clients, rhinoplasty provides elegance and subtlety, aligning beauty with individuality.

Type of Anesthesia and Procedure Duration

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia, ensuring total comfort and safety. At Guess Clinic, anesthesia is administered and monitored by an experienced anesthesiologist throughout the procedure.

The surgery typically lasts 2–3 hours, depending on the complexity of correction and whether functional adjustments are combined with cosmetic refinements.

How the Procedure is Performed

Two main approaches are used:

  • Closed rhinoplasty: Incisions are placed inside the nostrils, leaving no external scars.
  • Open rhinoplasty: A fine incision is made across the columella (the strip of skin between the nostrils), allowing for greater precision in reshaping complex structures.

Through these access points, cartilage and bone are carefully reshaped, refined, or repositioned. Sutures close the incisions discreetly, and in most cases, scars are virtually undetectable once healed.

Hospital Stay & Recovery

Rhinoplasty is usually performed as an outpatient procedure, though some clients may stay overnight for observation and comfort.

  • Dressings and a small nasal splint protect the nose during early healing.
  • Most clients return home the same day or the morning after surgery.

Early Recovery Timeline

  • Day 1–3: Swelling and congestion peak; mild bruising may appear around the eyes.
  • Day 5–7: Nasal splint is removed, revealing the refined new contour.
  • Week 2: Bruising typically resolves; most clients feel comfortable resuming social activities.
  • Month 1–2: Swelling continues to subside, with early results becoming clearer.
  • Month 6–12: Final definition emerges as tissues fully settle.

Safety & Comfort

At Guess Clinic, rhinoplasty is performed with meticulous planning and advanced techniques to minimize trauma and ensure natural, lasting results. Careful attention is given to both aesthetics and function, avoiding the “over-done” look of older surgical methods.

Temporary congestion, swelling, and bruising are normal parts of recovery and resolve over time. With proper aftercare, most clients return to normal routines within two weeks.

Five Questions Clients Ask

Will my nose look natural?
Yes. The goal of rhinoplasty is balance and refinement, never an artificial or “operated” appearance.

Is the scar visible?
In closed rhinoplasty, there are no external scars. In open rhinoplasty, the incision heals as a fine, nearly invisible line.

When will I see results?
The nose looks improved immediately after splint removal, though swelling may obscure details for several weeks. Final results appear between 6–12 months.

Is rhinoplasty permanent?
Yes. Once healed, results are long-lasting, though natural aging continues.

Can rhinoplasty improve breathing?
Yes. Functional rhinoplasty can straighten the septum and open nasal passages to improve airflow while refining appearance.
