Vaginal rejuvenation surgery

Vaginal rejuvenation is the surgery that aims to restore the pelvic muscles or a distended vagina. It is also performed to reduce the labia minora for aesthetic purposes. The most experienced signs of vaginal distension of the diameter are when water flows from the vagina after a bath, and when the partner feels the enlargement during intercourse.

The purpose of this procedure is to restore the perennial muscles, strengthen tissue and shrink the vaginal canal by giving it an optimal diameter.

Who is it addressed to ?

This procedure is indicated for women after one or more deliveries or simply with the effect of natural aging process, it allows finding more reinforced and toned tissues.

Procedure

The surgery of vaginal rejuvenation practiced by Dr. Mohamed Guessous, is done under local anesthesia combined with intravenous sedation and sometimes under spinal anesthesia. It lasts less than an hour.

The procedure is done in two steps:

In the vagina: The weakened pelvic muscles are tightened through a small incision between the vagina and the anus to consolidate and reduce the vagina’s diameter. Vaginal mucosa is reduced inside. The small incisions are closed with thin absorbable sutures.

Externally: We may need to reduce the labia if it is too large which does not look aesthetically pleasing while wearing bikini or thong, and also on a sexual level.

Sometimes you may need to lipofill (fat injection) the labia if there is atrophy or becomes too thin with age. You may also sometimes have pubic liposuction if the area is too big and even have a lift if necessary.

Postoperative effects

Vaginal rejuvenation is a little painful surgery. However, if mild pain is felt simple analgesics will eliminate the discomfort.

The patient should wash daily with foamy Betadine and water to allow better healing. Bath can only be taken starting from the fourth day.

The patient may get back to social and professional activity starting from the fifth day, after a few days of rest.

The resumption of sexual activity is expected after at least a month after surgery, and pregnancy is still possible after the intervention.

The result is significant once the resumption of sexual activity. As for scars, they are invisible through the proper healing of vaginal tissues.
