Carboxytherapy is a cosmetic medicine treatment that involves injecting carbon dioxide under the dermis to treat skin related problems while improving the color of dark circles under the eyes, white stretch marks, scars or recent loosening of the skin in the neck and chest.
The principle of this technique is to spread the carbon dioxide in the dermis to allow oxygenation of cells and treat skin problems.
Carboxytherapy aims skin’s elasticity while making it more uniform.
You should know that cells of our body produce CO2; it is naturally present and carried by the blood. Using CO2 injection consistently improves skin tension.
Who is it addressed to ?
This process is suitable both for men and women, for different treatments.
For the treatment of dark circles, CO2 injections are designed to lighten the blue or purplish color enabling better lymphatic circulation.
For skin treatment, the effect will be visible on the skin’s elasticity with a skin oxygenation to make it more hydrated with a rejuvenated effect. This method is also effective for stretch marks and recent scars.
Carboxytherapy is similar to mesotherapy; the difference is that this treatment’s injections are with a gas naturally present in the body. The used needle is very thin and completely painless. The session lasts 20 to 30 minutes depending on the areas to be treated.
First before starting a carboxytherapy session, the areas to be treated are marked and disinfected. Then using a thin needle associated with the carboxytherapy machine, light carbon is injected in small quantities under the skin.
After a few seconds, the gas diffuses into the blood; the flow increases and allows better oxygenation of the cells by enhancing the skin texture and thickness and destroying present fat deposits. Gas will subside quickly and will be eliminated from the body within minutes.
Following the treatment
Carboxytherapy is a safe and painless treatment without allergy risk. However during and right after the treatment, tingling, warmth and slight swelling may be felt, these discomforts disappear after a few minutes, once the gas is removed from the body.
Right after the session, the patient may return to normal activity.
Carboxytherapy is done in several sessions a month apart to refresh the skin, leaving it young, firm and toned, with a glow.
For sustainable results, sessions 3 to 4 times a year are required.
